Who is SJ Woo???

SJ Woo

Early on, SJ Woo was destined for musical greatness. A classical pianist since age 6, and known for his contribution to church choirs as the church musician, directing and arranging, since the age of 12, he was exceptional from the start. With mentors such as Billy Beck of the Ohio Players and Clarence “Dr. Bob” Ross, an engineer for Michael Jackson, SJ Woo found early success as a member of Whoz Who, a Youngstown based, all-male, R&B group. Known for their five-part harmonies, Whoz Who was signed to Longevity/Aftermath Records and featured on Dr. Dre’s “Aftermath” album.

Using the name SJ Woo, which is a combination of his initials and a decades-long nickname, the Ohio native is spawned by his diverse, inspiring, and powerful musical abilities. Since his Whoz Who tenure, his resume as a classical pianist, artist, arranger, producer, and composer has grown.

After teaming up with award-winning producer and songwriter Jody Daniels for “Tell Me,”  his debut solo single, SJ Woo has now made his mark in the realm of musical genius with his newest single, Baby I’m In! Written, composed, produced and performed by SJ Woo, he has teamed up with, newly revived, Wilsong 39 Music Company Inc., originally founded by the late, #1 hit, R&B legend, Al Wilson, (Show & Tell) to releases what is quickly becoming the “Winter Vibes” playlist #1!

SJ Woo believes being an artist is about more than dropping singles. “Having grown up in a spiritual household as a son of a preacher, everything stemmed from acknowledging what God means for you.  I find that everything else takes care of itself by just acknowledging that,”

As SJ Woo’s solo discography continues to grow, one thing is clear, the success of his early career has positioned him as a rising artist in today’s R&B scene. With future releases and videos dropping soon, SJ Woo is showing no signs of slowing down – and fans are loving him for it.

Many artists excel in one thing, but SJ Woo’s musical breadth, talent, writing, production skills and vocal range set this artist apart from the pack. Baby I’m In, the follow up to SJ Woo’s debut single, “Tell Me” yet again proves why he’s referred to as the Crooner’s Crooner and all around star.  SJ Woo’s electrifying, velvety vocals, intelligent and slick lyrics on Baby I’m In, are sure to become a part of the priceless vault of timeless music!
